About BITUMEN TANK

Bitumen storage tanks for asphalt batch mix plants and road construction projects are standard cylindrical vessels designed to keep liquid asphalt at operational pumping temperatures (140C to 180C). Tanks in the 20 Ton, 25 Ton, and 30 Ton range are generally horizontal or vertical mobile/stationary units.

Key Standard Features & Construction Details

1. Heating System Options

 * Thermic Fluid Heating (Indirect): Hot oil flows through seamless inner coils. Prevents direct flame oxidation and bitumen degradation.

 * Direct Oil/Diesel Burner Heating: Uses an internal U-tube fire duct with an automatic burner (diesel/LDO). Heats up quickly for mobile setups.

 * Electrical Heating: Electric immersion heating elements with digital temperature control panels (common in stationary plants with high grid reliability).

2. Standard Equipment & Accessories

 * Pumping Station: Positive displacement jacketed gear pump driven by a 5.5 HP to 10 HP motor for bitumen transfer.

 * Insulation & Cladding: Rock wool or glass wool density (60“100 kg/m³) wrapped in galvanized iron (GI), aluminum, or SS sheet to prevent thermal loss.

 * Temperature Control: Digital temperature indicators, automatic thermostatic cut-off, and high-temp safety alarms.

 * Mountings & Safety:

   * Top-mounted manhole (450 mm “ 500 mm) with breather valve

   * Analog & digital level indicators

   * Bottom drain outlet with jacketed valve

   * Heavy-duty structural steel chassis (for mobile/skid-mounted units)
